TALAMANA
A map of 200 ideas for learning AI in architecture, from first principles to studio judgment.
There are no shortcuts.
But there is a path.
AN OPEN STANDARD, BUILT IN INDIA
About Talamana
Talamana is built from the published work and teaching practice of Sahil Tanveer — architect, author, educator, and AI-in-design researcher; founder of Red Brick Design Studio (RBDS) and RBDS AI Lab, India.
What this map is
Talamana is an open map of AI literacy for architecture and design students. Its 200 ideas run from ages 11 to 22 across six strands. Every line has a written reason: the idea at one end stands on the idea beneath it.
The age rings show when an idea can first be met, not who is allowed to learn it. Begin anywhere you are curious. Open an idea, read its prerequisites, and follow the field inward when you need firmer ground.
How learning works here
Mark an idea as known only when you can show the evidence tasks in your own words or work. The map then names ideas that are ready next. Set any idea as a goal and Talamana orders its unfinished prerequisites into a syllabus, foundations first.
Judgment ideas are different. A quiz cannot prove them. They need a crit: another person looks at real work and puts the idea's crit question to you.
Every factual idea is grounded in independent sources. Every positional idea openly states the Lab's view. The map admits its own opinions, so you can inspect them and disagree.
