TALAMANA · THE AI LITERACY MAP FOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN · Studio Practice · AGE 19—22 · FACTUAL · DURABLE
Drafts, minutes and specs, verified
Draft fast with the model, then check every claim a reader could act on.
When to use
Minutes, specification clauses, letters, schedules, tender notes: the writing a studio produces every week that is shaped like prose but carries facts.
The method
Give the model the raw material — your notes, the recording's transcript, the previous version — and ask for a draft. Then change roles, from writer to checker. Mark every claim in the draft that a reader could act on: a date, a quantity, a product, a decision, who agreed to what. Check each against its source — your notes, the datasheet, the drawing — and mark it verified, or strike it. Nothing unmarked leaves the studio. For minutes, the checked draft goes to the people who were in the room before it goes anywhere else.
Watch for this
The invented specific. Draft minutes record "the client approved the 150 mm slab" when the client said "that sounds fine" about nothing in particular. The model fills gaps with likely detail, and in a specification likely detail is a wrong number that looks right.
Try it
Draft minutes of a real meeting with AI from your rough notes. Before sending, mark every fact verified or unverified. Count the unverified. Then find the one figure it stated confidently and wrongly — there is usually one.
Prove it
Show one AI-drafted document with every actionable claim marked and sourced, and the line you struck.
How it works
The draft is fast because the model knows the shape of minutes and specifications from thousands of examples. The facts are unreliable for the same reason: it knows what minutes usually say, and fills your gaps from the usual. The method separates what the model is good at — form, completeness, plain sentences — from what only you can supply. The load-bearing-words card on the core ring is the sharper case: text the model should not draft at all.
